CANINE KAYAK: Fun in the sun with your best friend
Questions and Answers
You asked and we listened.

Performance Dogs in Action now offers canine companion kayak lessons. We will assist in training your dog to board the vessel from both the land and the dock, as well as exiting the kayak at the conclusion of your sporting. Work and guidance will be given on assisting your dog back aboard should they jump or fall into water during your seaward voyage.

Q: Do I need to have a kayak to train?
A: No, you may use the kayak at PDIA if needed

Q: Does my dog need a life vest?
A: A life vest is suggested but not required. The vest should have a top strap with which you can grab the dog and lift from the water. At minimum, if no life jacket, the dog must be wearing a body harness (typically used for walking dog)

Q: When are classes offered?
A: Private lessons are available. Group classes (max 3 participants) are offered on Friday and Saturdays.
